November 2, 2018 – Colossians 1:3-5
We always pray for you, and we give thanks to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. For we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and your love for all of God’s people, which come from your confident hope of what God has reserved for you in heaven. You have had this expectation ever since you first heard the truth of the Good News. Colossians 1:3-5.
“May grace and peace from God our Father (and the Lord Jesus, the Anointed One) envelop you!” This prayer is to the brothers and sisters in the family of Jesus who lived in Colossae by the Apostle Paul. Loving others in the name of Jesus cannot be hidden. It changes our very being.
A greeter at Walmart makes a difference, “God didn’t put me on earth to hate, but to love people!” Through faith in Jesus Christ and our hope in Heaven, we are enabled to love and love deeply.
This good news changes our lives from the moment we understand the truth about God’s Wonderful Grace. This amazing Grace gives us joy untold, not just for now, but for eternity.
When our identity is in Christ Jesus, we belong to Him. Everything we do and say is of Him. Above all, you must live as citizens of heaven, conducting yourselves in a manner worthy of the Good News about Christ. Then, whether I come and see you again or only hear about you, I will know that you are standing together with one spirit and one purpose, fighting together for the faith, which is the Good News. Philippians 1:27.
This same Good News that came to you is going out all over the world. It is bearing fruit everywhere by changing lives, just as it changed your lives from the day you first heard and understood the truth about God’s wonderful grace. Colossians 1:6.
