October 31, 2018 – Lamentations 3:22-24

The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is His faithfulness; His mercies begin afresh each morning. I say to myself, “The Lord is my inheritance; therefore, I will hope in Him!” Lamentations 3:22-24.

“Turn over a new leaf,” someone told me long ago. Our lives become a story.  Each day, through the faithful love of our Lord God and His mercy, a new page is written.  A new beginning, a new chapter is written! 

When I awake, I see evidences of His Care all about me in the morning rain from the cluster of clouds above.  On this fall day, I see bright fallen leaves making a pattern on the earth God created.

What joy fills my heart as I realize anew, “The Lord is my inheritance – I will hope in Him!”  The Love of God renews my spirit each day and I hunger and thirst for His righteousness.  Lord, you alone are my inheritance, my cup of blessing. You guard all that is mine. The land you have given me is a pleasant land. What a wonderful inheritance! Psalm 16:5-6.

We are an impatient people, and yet Psalm 27:14 admonishes us, Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.  

You will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of your presence and the pleasures of living with you forever.  Psalm 16:11.   

Depending on the Lord’s strength in our weakness, we find salvation.  Learning to trust in God brings wisdom. Proverbs 3:5-6. Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek His will in all you do, and He will show you which path to take.  

The Lord is good to those who depend on Him, to those who search for Him. So it is good to wait quietly for salvation from the Lord.  Lamentations 3:25-26.
