October 30, 2018 – I Corinthians 13:4-7
Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance. I Corinthians 13:4-7.
“I love you!” are words often spoken. Sometimes we doubt someone’s professed love, and no where else have I ever found a more sure way of knowing true love. For the way we love makes the difference in every season of life. God is Love. When we learn to love others as Jesus loves us, our world is filled with love.
This morning, I counted my blessings as I awoke. I felt no pain. I walked to the front door to open it. I felt the peace and hush of the still morning just before the new day dawns. I turned on the computer. It complied and I thanked my son for his constant help. I placed homemade bread in the toaster, and thought of the loving hands of my daughter-in-love who provides for me.
Love speaks, even after death. Actions of love during a lifetime become sweet memories to cherish. Jesus taught us to love one another and loves us so much, He died on the cross. Love is giving away a part of our hearts and our being.
Love can’t be bought; love signifies a heart freely given. Love is unseen. Love holds hands with faith and hope in our lives in Christ on earth. Love is a melody that has no end and is bequeathed from generation to generation.
This morning, I praise the Lord God for His Everlasting Love. “I love you, Lord!”
Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love. I Corinthians 13:13.
