September 27, 2018 – Matthew 19:13

One day some parents brought their children to Jesus so he could lay his hands on them and pray for them. But the disciples scolded the parents for bothering him. Matthew 19:13.

Jesus taught with every word and action while on earth – for He came to seek and save everyone who is lost.

The writer of Psalm 127:3, tells us, Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from Him!  In so many ways our children teach us lessons of love, ever greater. As the roles reverse and our children become the care-givers in this life, the WAY they love becomes more precious.

Children trust, learn and love without pretense and follow their parents’ teaching.  Jesus lets his disciples know – children are free to be with the Lord.   For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children.

May our eyes see all children and older children, too, like Jesus, with His Love.  Long ago Abraham believed God. and God counted him as righteous because of his faith. The real children of Abraham, then, are those who put their faith in God.

And now that the way of faith has come, we no longer need the law as our guardian. For you are all children of God through faith in Christ Jesus. Galatians 3:25-26.

The greatest lesson we can learn in this life is to love others as  Jesus loves.  Our love grows more perfect when we live in God. So we will not be afraid on the day of judgment, but we can face Him with confidence because we live like Jesus here in this world.  Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. I John 4:17-18a.

But Jesus said, “Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children.” And he placed his hands on their heads and blessed them before he left. Matthew 19:14-15.
