September 25, 2018 – I Peter 1:7
These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold—though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world. I Peter 1:7.
What is more precious than gold on this earth? What do men long for? Enough money to be comfortable and not have to worry about the next meal coming. The question is, who or what do we worship? Comfort in this life or the Giver of Life Eternal?
God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. Ephesians 2:8-9.
We are tested through hardships in this life to test our faith in Jesus. Our faith in Jesus, even though we cannot see Him, is far more precious than fine gold. He gives us contentment, peace, forgiveness, joy, and loves us. We become God’s Children through the Gift of Jesus.
We thank Him continually and praise Him. And this we learn – Yet true godliness with contentment is itself great wealth. I Timothy 6:6. “I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.” John 14:27.
Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice! Let everyone see that you are considerate in all you do. Remember, the Lord is coming soon. Philippians 4:4-5.
You love Him even though you have never seen Him. Though you do not see Him now, you trust Him; and you rejoice with a glorious, inexpressible joy. The reward for trusting Him will be the salvation of your souls. I Peter 1:8-9.
