May 27, 2015 – Romans 5:17
For the sin of this one man, Adam, caused death to rule over many. But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and his gift of righteousness, for all who receive it will live in triumph over sin and death through this one man, Jesus Christ. Romans 5:17It doesn’t always take a village — it just takes one person to change things. Adam brought sin into the world. Jesus brought righteousness and God’s grace in the world. We need to remember how important in God’s scheme of things each of us are.A silhouette is black on white. The world is often described in the Bible as dark. Imagine a page in black — paint it with sin. Then paint on it a brilliant gleaming cross signifying grace, holiness, and righteousness. It is so bright that its light shines its rays illuminating the dangers of darkness. This picture shows us what God has done.People choose to sin. People succumb to temptations in a weak moment. They fall into a deep crevice with seemingly no way out. God’s wonderful grace becomes more apparent, shining with love and forgiveness. That wonderful grace comes when we choose God in even the small areas of our life. We are an open book to our open God who loves each of us. He is faithful and true. He sent his one and only son to the earth to give us Hope, right standing with God and eternal life through Jesus Christ! Amen! Amen!God’s law was given so that all people could see how sinful they were. But as people sinned more and more, God’s wonderful grace became more abundant. So just as sin ruled over all people and brought them to death, now God’s wonderful grace rules instead, gives us right- standing with God and results in eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
