September 19, 2018 – Psalm 28:6-7
Praise the Lord! For he has heard my cry for mercy. The Lord is my strength and shield. I trust Him with all my heart. He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy. I burst out in songs of thanksgiving. Psalm 28:6-7.
I woke up this morning to a brief morning mist, seeming to dress the day in mystery. How grateful I am our Lord shields us by giving us strength. Strength to face the day from the unpleasant happenings along the way.
Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.” John 8:11.
We are God’s special possession through Christ Jesus. His people. The way Jesus loves fills me with joy and thanksgiving. He forgives me over and over, I find a safe haven in Him. He walks and talks with me through His Word. He joins me in singing for the thanksgiving of His Joy.
A shepherd leads his flock, but Jesus is more. He carries us in His Arms. It is one thing to follow the Shepherd, but greater still, to be carried as His children in His arms forever more.
The Lord is my shepherd; I have all that I need. He lets me rest in green meadows; He leads me beside peaceful streams. He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to his name. Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me. Psalm 23:1-4
