May 21, 2015 – Psalm 16:5-6
Lord, you alone are my inheritance, my cup of blessing. You guard all that is mine. The land you have given me is a pleasant land. What a wonderful inheritance! Psalm 16:5-6I can hear her words now, my Mom often said, “Why does God spoil me so much?” Her book quotes Psalm 16:6 — for she has received a goodly inheritance…the love of God. I thought perchance because she was born a Loewen-Suderman, but as time goes on, I realize she meant the blessings God heaped upon her daily, blessings of goodness and peace and contentment. Most of all, the blessings of love unending — on earth as it is in Heaven.Mom learned and I learn now that the Lord is the Master of waiting. As I care for my husband and watch the unsure and faltering steps of my husband, I learn what it is to wait. The Lord waits for us to come to Him. How many times did I ignore Him and turn the other way? He knew the urgency, He knew that my way would lead to death. Yet the Lord waited for He is a faithful God. He holds treasures of love and compassion that eases our way through this life. The final blessing will be Heaven! Literally – Heaven. After this I looked, and there before me was a door standing open in heaven. And the voice I had first heard speaking to me like a trumpet said, “Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after this.” At once I was in the Spirit, and there before me was a throne in heaven with someone sitting on it. And the one who sat there had the appearance of jasper and ruby. A rainbow that shone like an emerald encircled the throne. Revelation 4:1-3Oh, I’m running to Your arms, I’m running to Your arms, The riches of Your love, Will always be enough, Nothing compares to Your embrace, Light of the world forever reign! Blessed are those who wait for his help. Isaiah 30:18
