August 10, 2018 – Psalm 59:16

But as for me, I will sing about your power. Each morning I will sing with joy about your unfailing love. For you have been my refuge, a place of safety when I am in distress. Psalm 59:16.

How often we find ourselves struggling against the darkness and troubles of this world.  The Children of Israel tried to do things on their own in their own strength.  Jeremiah the prophet heard from the Lord…“I am the Lord, the God of all the peoples of the world. Is anything too hard for Me?” (Jeremiah 32:27) . It is when we realize our Lord IS our strength, can we be rescued from trials.  When we can say with the Psalmist, I wait for You to rescue me, then become His Children.   

You are my strength; I wait for you to rescue me, for You, O God, are my fortress. In His unfailing love, my God will stand with me. He will let me look down in triumph on all my enemies.   Psalm 59:9-10.

Yes, we read and hear about God’s Love, but until our identity is in Jesus Christ who loved us to die on the cross to make a bridge to God, we will struggle.  I Peter 5:6-7 – So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time He will lift you up in honor. Give all your worries and cares to God, for He cares about you. 

Only when we walk with Him, will we find His Joy, giving us something to sing about every day and through the night!  But each day the Lord pours His unfailing love upon me, and through each night I sing His songs,   praying to God who gives me life.  Psalm 42:8.

O my Strength, to you I sing praises, for you, O God, are my refuge, the God who shows me, unfailing love. Psalm 59:17.
