June 26, 2018 – Ephesians 2:8-9

God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. Ephesians 2:8-9.

What would motivate you to help this little boy from the hole he fell into?  You feel sorry for him?  He offers you a lot of money to help him?

He is hurt and needs help? He is your little brother and you love him? When we believe in Jesus and want to follow Him, this belief changes us. Helping this little boy because we love others is our motivation, not to be a hero among our friends.  We help others, not for ‘brownie’ points with God, but because He creates us anew Christ Jesus and fees us from the world’s way of thinking.

It is when we begin to understand how great His Gift of Grace through Jesus coming to earth, we truly treasure His Love.  We want to Live, Love, and Follow Jesus. We want to be His Hands and Feet.  We want to tell of His great love to others and share what He has given us.  He planned this life for each of us with things only we can do, long before we were born.

But when the right time came, God sent his Son, born of a woman, subject to the law. God sent him to buy freedom for us who were slaves to the law, so that he could adopt us as his very own children. And because we are his children, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, prompting us to call out, “Abba, Father.  Galatians 4:4-6

For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.  Ephesians 2:10.
