May 18, 2018 – Psalm 96:1-2

Sing a new song to the Lord! Let the whole earth sing to the Lord! Sing to the Lord; praise His name. Each day proclaim the good news that He saves. Psalm 96:1-2.

So many of the Psalms are written with the admonition to praise God.  What is the opposite of praise?  Complaining, grumbling, and being critical is the opposite of praise. Praise the Lord with melodies on the lyre; make music for him on the ten-stringed harp. Sing a new song of praise to him;
play skillfully on the harp, and sing with joy. Psalm 33:2-3.  How many ways can we sing praise to our Lord?  Do we sing with Joy?

This morning, as I opened the door of my home to the world, God sent two cardinals to greet me. With a thankful heart, I thanked our Lord and praised Him for His creation.  This thankful spirit continued as I saw His exotically designed flowers bowing in the lively wind in a chorus of praise.  Two sweet emails reminded me of prayer needs, and I praised God, knowing how He answers our prayers.

Let the sea and everything in it shout his praise! Let the earth and all living things join in. Let the rivers clap their hands in glee! Let the hills sing out their songs of joy.  Psalm 98:7-8.

Give thanks to the Lord and proclaim his greatness. Let the whole world know what he has done. Sing to him; yes, sing his praises. Tell everyone about his wonderful deeds.  Psalm 105:1-2.

What is the primary way to proclaim His greatness?  The way we love, the way we talk, the way we give, and the way we forgive, all in the name of Jesus.

Publish His glorious deeds among the nations. Tell everyone about the amazing things He does.  Psalm 96:3.
