May 15, 2018 – Genesis 8:1-2
But God remembered Noah and all the wild animals and livestock with him in the boat. He sent a wind to blow across the earth, and the floodwaters began to recede. The underground waters stopped flowing, and the torrential rains from the sky were stopped. Genesis 8:1-2.
God remembered Noah… Noah obeyed and listened to God for his whole life. He and his three sons, Ham, Shem, and Japeth built the ark to God’s specifications. “Build a large boat from cypress wood and waterproof it with tar, inside and out. Then construct decks and stalls throughout its interior. Make the boat 450 feet long, 75 feet wide, and 45 feet high. Leave an 18-inch opening below the roof all the way around the boat. Put the door on the side, and build three decks inside the boat—lower, middle, and upper.” – So Noah did everything exactly as God had commanded him. Genesis 6:14-16, 22.
After Noah had filled the ark with animals as God had instructed, and the flood waters came for forty days and nights. Noah and his family were on board with the animals. Noah trusted God.
Noah didn’t ask God questions. “Could I take a shortcut in building the ark?” “Could I skip the animals, I don’t care for?” “How long will we be on this ark?” “What if we run out of food?” God remembered Noah, and He remembers us.
Yet I am confident I will see the Lord’s goodness while I am here in the land of the living. Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord. Psalm 27:13-14.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take. Proverbs 3:5-6.
We Trust and Wait on the Lord, even when we become old and weary.
So the floodwaters gradually receded from the earth. After 150 days… Genesis 8:3.
