April 30, 2018 – Isaiah 49:14-15
Yet Jerusalem says, “The Lord has deserted us; the Lord has forgotten us.” “Never! Can a mother forget her nursing child? Can she feel no love for the child she has borne? But even if that were possible, I would not forget you! Isaiah 49:14-15.
Our Lord God is ageless. He does not forget the child He creates, even as He created each star and calls them by name.
Look up into the heavens. Who created all the stars? He brings them out like an army, one after another, calling each by its name. Because of His great power and incomparable strength, not a single one is missing. Isaiah 40:26.
In His Wisdom each baby nestles in peace in a Mother’s arms. Even as we rest in the arms of Jesus and count our blessings. What joy is ours. Just as a loving mother never forgets her child, our Lord God never forgets us. Our name is written on His Heart and on the ‘palm of His hands’. He remembers His chosen city, even as the walls crumble into ruins by the hands of men.
John wrote the revelation of the end of the age. Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the old heaven and the old earth had disappeared. And the sea was also gone. And I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven like a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. I heard a loud shout from the throne, saying, “Look, God’s home is now among his people! He will live with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them. He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.” Revelation 21:1-4
See, I have written your name on the palms of my hands. Always in my mind is a picture of Jerusalem’s walls in ruins. Isaiah 49:16.
