April 16, 2018 – Genesis 2:5-7

Neither wild plants nor grains were growing on the earth. For the Lord God had not yet sent rain to water the earth, and there were no people to cultivate the soil. Instead, springs came up from the ground and watered all the land. Then the Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground. He breathed the breath of life into the man’s nostrils, and the man became a living person. Genesis 2:5-7.

Our Lord God planted a garden in the East.  He was the First Gardener. He didn’t buy seeds or any implements to plant the gardens.  Where did the seeds come from? How did The Gardener encourage His Garden to grow?   Instead, springs came up from the ground and watered all the land.  The first underground sprinkler was created by our awesome God.

When the Mennonites migrated to United States, they carefully packed winter wheat seeds to grow in their new land.  They knew these seeds were to live in a new land.

It is when we lose touch with the connection of where our food comes from, we lose the understanding of God’s joy in creating the food we make.

When we give a gift, the joy of anticipation of the receiver begins. A thank you and gratitude is the response. How often we eat, without any thought our food is a direct gift from God!  The fruits, the grains, and the vegetables come directly from his Hand — from seedlings to fruition.

We were created by God and placed in the Garden of Eden to tend the garden, until Adam and Eve wanted to be more wise than God. Give God the glory, sing praises to Him.  Thank Him, for He is Great!

Then the Lord God planted a garden in Eden in the east, and there he placed the man he had made. The Lord God made all sorts of trees grow up from the ground—trees that were beautiful and that produced delicious fruit. In the middle of the garden he placed the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Genesis 2:8-9
