April 13, 2018 – Psalm 90:1-2
Lord, through all the generations you have been our home! Before the mountains were born, before you gave birth to the earth and the world, from beginning to end, you are God. Psalm 90: 1-2.
This is the prayer of Moses. He had a long view of God – beyond generations long. Moses understood the powerful God is forever. He lived for God, he obeyed God and his whole life belonged to the Lord. His life began and ended in our Lord God . There was no other, Moses would worship. He knew without a doubt – the Lord is great.
O Lord my God, you have performed many wonders for us. Your plans for us are too numerous to list. You have no equal. If I tried to recite all your wonderful deeds, I would never come to the end of them. Psalm 40:5
When God sent His Son, Jesus to the world, Moses would have been the first to sing….He is Lord, he is Lord! He is risen from the dead, and he is Lord! Every knee shall bow, every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord!
What is your faith song praising God, on your lips and in your heart as you rise each day? The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is His faithfulness; His mercies begin afresh each morning. Lamentations 22-23.
Our children and our children’s children hear us sing praises to the One who brings us joy to the end of our lives and beyond. And we sing with the Psalmist – How great is the Lord, how deserving of praise, in the city of our God,
which sits on His holy mountain! Psalm 48:1.
Satisfy us each morning with your unfailing love, so we may sing for joy to the end of our lives. Psalm 90:14.
