April 11, 2018 – Ephesians 3:14-17
When I think of all this, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father, the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth. I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources He will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. Then Christ will make His home in your hearts as you trust in Him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. Colossians 3: 14-17.
A beautiful prayer – to welcome Jesus into your heart for His Home. What would that mean? Trusting Him, walking in His Way, learning to love like God loves is the beginning.
Somehow these thoughts remind me of Saturdays as a child when all activity stopped, except cleaning house. We began at the front door going through every room, and chased the dirt with vacuum and broom, and dust cloth out the back door. Not a speck of dirt remained.
I used to read this verse – “Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends”, and wonder if our house was clean enough. (Revelation 3:20). Now I understand more clearly how Jesus loves us, and how He forgives. His love and forgiveness cleanses our hearts.
We are made complete when we finally understand how wide, how long, how high, and deep His Love is. With every heartache we experience, our love becomes deeper when we trust our Lord Jesus.
And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God. Colossians 3:18-19.
