March 22, 2018 – Ephesians 1:5-6

God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what He wanted to do, and it gave Him great pleasure. So we praise God for the glorious grace he has poured out on us who belong to his dear Son. Ephesians 1:5-6.

Long ago God loved us.  These two verses give us joy.  And we wonder how can it be – You gave your life, to give me mine. You say that I am free, How can it be?  (Laura Daigle).

And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. John 8:32.  How often we hear these words, but cannot comprehend the depth of God’s Love and sacrifice embodied in Jesus.  For Jesus is our truth and He is our life. Only through Him is our salvation  purchased. For the law was given through Moses, but God’s unfailing love and faithfulness came through Jesus Christ.  John 1:17.

There is nothing or anyone as kind and loving as our Lord God who provides for our every need, including being wanted and loved as deeply, as God loves us. What will our response be? How much love do we return to God?  Is it obedience and believing He is our Master and Lord and placing Him first in all things?

Jesus replied, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’  This is the first and greatest commandment.  A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ Matthew 22:37-40.

Let loving God be your song of life. I love you, Lord, And I lift my voice – To worship You, Oh, my soul rejoice! Let it be a sweet, sweet sound in Your ear!

He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins. Ephesians 1:7
