December 29, 2017 – Matthew 6:33
Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and He will give you everything you need. Matthew 6:33.
Seek and live righteously and He will give you everything you need. Is that too hard? It is not difficult when we seek and live for the Jeremiah speaks in 32:17. “O Sovereign Lord! You made the heavens and earth by your strong hand and powerful arm. Nothing is too hard for you!” The very next verse begins, “You show unfailing love to thousands...”
Where can we find this Kingdom of God? How can we find His unfailing love? If we are wise, we will seek Him. (Psalm 14:2) If we seek Him, we will praise Him. ( Psalm 22:26) We seek the Lord while we can find Him and call on Him. (Isaiah 55:6).
He gives us everything we need! So often we confuse ‘wants’ with ‘needs’. We ‘need’ a new heart filled with love and faith, loving one another as only Jesus can give. We do not need new things that will not last, but a new heart lives living in joy forever with the Lord. The first time I read the following verse, I read it in the KJV version. It ended with…Sufficient unto the day is the evil there of. At the age of nineteen, I found it funny. Sixty-nine years later, I find it comforting.
Have you ever thought about tithing your time of prayer and communion with God? Our daughter, Anna, has a goal for the New Year to do just that. She continues to seek after God, through faith, to glorify Him. And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him. Hebrews 11:6
“So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.” Matthew 6:34
