October 24, 2017 – Revelation 1:13-15
And standing in the middle of the lamp stands was someone like the Son of Man. He was wearing a long robe with a gold sash across his chest. His head and his hair were white like wool, as white as snow. And his eyes were like flames of fire. His feet were like polished bronze refined in a furnace, and his voice thundered like mighty ocean waves. Revelation 1:13-15.
I can only imagine what it will be like – When I walk, by your side – I can only imagine what my eyes will see – When you face is before me – I can only imagine… We sing these lyrics. The book of Revelation of Jesus Christ was faithfully reported by John. John often used words men on earth knew by comparing. Like is used seven times. Like the Son of man, hair like wool, eyes like flames, feet like polished bronze, voice like mighty ocean waves, face like the sun.
I can only imagine! Seeing Jesus will be like seeing all the brilliant colors of the sunsets, sunrises, brilliant fall leaves of a life time, rolled in to one glorious sight.
Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor and gave him the name above all other names, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue declare that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Philippians 2:9-11
Jesus loves us – always. And it is clear. The last sentence clearly says this. He laid his right hand on me and said, “Don’t be afraid! I am the First and the Last!
You are the God of great wonders! Psalm 77:14a
He held seven stars in his right hand, and a sharp two-edged sword came from his mouth. And his face was like the sun in all its brilliance. When I saw him, I fell at his feet as if I were dead. But he laid his right hand on me and said, “Don’t be afraid! I am the First and the Last. Revelation 1:16-17
