October 4, 2017 – John 14:23

Jesus replied, “All who love me will do what I say. My Father will love them, and we will come and make our home with each of them.  John 14:23.

How do you measure love? How can we measure our love for Jesus?  In a world of defiance and placing self-love first,  we ask, ‘What’s in it for me?’

So now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God because our Lord Jesus Christ has made us friends of God.  Romans 5:11.  A relationship with God, even as Abraham had.  You see, his faith and his actions worked together. His actions made his faith complete.  And so it happened just as the Scriptures say: “Abraham believed God, and God counted him as righteous because of his faith.” He was even called the friend of God.  James 2:22-23.

Did Jesus leave us alone on the earth? Did Jesus leave us without any help to continue our walk with Him?  No.  He gave us the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, to teach us and remind us of the teaching of Jesus.  Are we listening?  Choosing not to listen shows our lack of love for Jesus who is the pathway to God.

May the Lord lead your hearts into a full understanding and expression of the love of God and the patient endurance that comes from Christ. 2 Thessalonians 3:5 .

Should we wait for another God?  For the Lord is God, and he created the heavens and earth and put everything in place. He made the world to be lived in, not to be a place of empty chaos. “I am the Lord,” he says, “and there is no other. Isaiah 35:18.

I am telling you these things now while I am still with you. But when the Father sends the Advocate as my representative—that is, the Holy Spirit—he will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you. John 14:25-26.
