And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne. Hebrews 12:1b:2Our eyes take in our life’s concepts and ideas and make us who we are. When we hear angry words, we speak angry words. When we hear loving words, we repeat loving words. When we see some one hit another, we hit another. We emulate what we know and see and hear. When we keep our eyes on Jesus, we learn gentleness, peacefulness and kindness. From Jesus we learn to have a servant heart that loves others. Jesus teaches us His Way, the Truth and the Life, for He knows the Joy that lies ahead for each of us.How often we hear and live by the adage — that is just the way I am. “I can’t help being this way — it is the way I was born.” Is it? Is it really? Look at this little girl watching you with her innocent blue eyes, what does she learn from you? Or what does she learn from television, movies or today’s music? How many times does she see someone killed in a story? This forms her view of the world and the way it is. The devil grasps at your heart to make it his.The Lord our God holds us by our right hand and speaks to us, “Don’t be afraid, I am here to help you!” Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand. Isaiah 41:10 No matter how the Devil tugs – we will keep our eyes on the One and Only God who loves us and cares for us. May our hearts, our minds and our eyes be filled always with Jesus…For I hold you by your right hand— I, the LORD your God. And I say to you, ‘Don’t be afraid. I am here to help you. Isaiah 41:13
