August 25, 2017 – Revelation 21:22-23

I saw no temple in the city, for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. And the city has no need of sun or moon, for the glory of God illuminates the city, and the Lamb is its light. Revelation 21:22-23.

A city is desolate without power.  A day is lost without the sunshine. A face is downcast without a smile.  God’s power is constant, a forever, without end.  His city is alight with his power and love.  There is no shadow or night in God’s City.

Our sun and moon, created by God, is simply a reminder of God’s City of Light!  Evil is not allowed in God’s City of Light.  This is our sweet, safe place Jesus prepares for us.

Its gates will never be closed at the end of day because there is no night there.  And all the nations will bring their glory and honor into the city.  Nothing evil will be allowed to enter, nor anyone who practices shameful idolatry and dishonesty—but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.  Revelation 21:25-27.

God brings illumination and the Lamb, Jesus Christ, IS the light of the City! Dottie Rambo wrote these lyrics – We shall behold Him, O yes, we shall behold Him, Face to face in all of His glory, We shall behold Him, face to face, Our Savior and Lord!

What Joy and Welcome from our Lord Jesus Christ awaits us when we enter the God’s City of Light!

The nations will walk in its light, and the kings of the world will enter the city in all their glory.  Revelation 21:24.
