But I cried to him, “O my God, who lives forever, don’t take my life while I am so young! Long ago you laid the foundation of the earth and made the heavens with your hands…But you are always the same; you will live forever. Psalm 102:24-25, 27Every life needs a foundation on which to build. A foundation that is unshakeable. A foundation that withstands the buffets of pain, storms and doubt. A sure foundation that will not crumble.God laid the foundation of the earth and He made the heavens with his hands. In his weakness and determination to understand, man cannot the fathom the stretches of space beyond the Hubble’s power. Man tries to distinguish the details of the earth’s vast treasures and laws and can only label its parts and workings. The finite mind of man is evident in the surprise of one scientist who surveyed the bones of the dinosaur in a museum. “We have the head on the wrong end…” he shouted. Foundation building has to be sure in truth and steadfast. The foundation, according to Paul in I Corinthians, must be built carefully. There is only one foundation that will stand and that is on Jesus Christ. This foundation will stand for an eternity for Jesus Christ is the only Son of God. But Jesus deserves far more glory than Moses, just as a person who builds a house deserves more praise than the house itself. For every house has a builder, but the one who built everything is God. Hebrews 3:3-4Each day that we walk with God and study His Word makes our foundation ever more sure. A house built on the foundation of Jesus Christ is one of prayer, love, hope, kindness, goodness and steadfast faithfulness. To build the foundation, we choose these building blocks and trust in the One True God who created the very earth we stand on. Praise and Glory to Him.Because of God’s grace to me, I have laid the foundation like an expert builder. Now others are building on it. But whoever is building on this foundation must be very careful. For no one can lay any foundation other than the one we already have—Jesus Christ. I Corinthians 3:10-11
