July 6, 2017 – Luke 112:27-28

“Look at the lilies and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing, yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. And if God cares so wonderfully for flowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith? Luke 12:27-28

Did you know God is a Master Teacher.  He creates his own teaching tools, and this time, it is lilies.  Have you ever considered flowers?  Each flower has a unique design and color.  What is it about a flower that makes us smile and we are attracted to it?  A flower does not have a long life, yet its beauty draws us.  It cannot protect itself from enemies or from thirst. A flower depends on God for its short life.

If a flower looked into a mirror, what reflection would the flower see?  The reflection of its creator, our Lord God, who cares for it.  When we depend on God totally and seek the Kingdom of God first our faith grows.  It is then our lives also reflect the glory of God.

The Lord’s prayer includes these words, “Give us this day, our daily bread…” Jesus knows our every need.  Matthew 6:34 – “So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.”

Refreshed the birds awake to watch All earth awash in glistening dew; The flowers await a rising sun, All life once more begins anew…O Precious Presence — God is here! Words from Anna Daisy Siemens.  God’s creation presents His Precious Presence…all around us. He gives us what we need.

“And don’t be concerned about what to eat and what to drink. Don’t worry about such things. These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers all over the world, but your Father already knows your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and He will give you everything you need.” Luke 12:29-31
