June 14, 2017 – Psalm 147:3-5
He heals the brokenhearted and bandages their wounds. He counts the stars and calls them all by name. How great is our Lord! His power is absolute! His understanding is beyond comprehension! Psalm 147:3-5
Is there a God? The World tries to convince us there is no God in many ways. A night under a canopy of stars in a black velvet sky and we know God IS. And our Lord God, who knows every star by name, loves you and me. He knows our names, and has plans for each of us. He understands more than we could ever comprehend.
Would we dare to tell God, as we tell our parents, “You don’t understand!” For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11.
Man often promises, but can never sustain or remember all he promises. God’s power is absolute. His Word never changes. He is always the same. He keeps His promises. He knows that we need new mercies each day — so great is His Faithfulness to us. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning. Lamentations 3:22. He provides rain for the earth and makes the grass grow.
What is our response? Turning our backs, disbelief, using his name as a swear word? Turning to other gods? The only worthy response is to sing out our thanks to the Lord and sing His praises! Have you ever tried to count how many hymns and praise songs have been written to our Lord? They are as numerous as the stars in the night sky.
May God be praised! “Come to me with your ears wide open. Listen, and you will find life. I will make an everlasting covenant with you. I will give you all the unfailing love I promised to David.” Isaiah 55:3
Sing out your thanks to the Lord; sing praises to our God with a harp. He covers the heavens with clouds, provides rain for the earth, and makes the grass grow in mountain pastures. Psalm 147:7-8
