The God of Israel spoke, the Rock of Israel said to me: ‘When one rules over people in righteousness, when he rules in the fear of God, he is like the light of morning at sunrise on a cloudless morning, like the brightness after rain that brings grass from the earth.’ 2 Samuel 23:3-4A ruler over people who rules in fear of God is like the light of morning. The glory of an early sunrise is hidden from many eyes, yet its glory floods the earth.  Sunrise is the light that brightens our way.  It reaches into the dark corners of the earth with understanding.Righteous living is filled with truth, kindness and love.  Vindication against evil belongs to the Lord.  Wait patiently for the Lord.  Single-minded trust in the Lord wins, and like Daniel who resolved to follow God alone, our righteousness shines.Commit our way to the Lord and trust in Him.  We pray that God gives us this focus and assurance as we resolve to live in steadfast courage in His Way alone.  ‘Commit’ has a ‘no-matter-what’ quality that compels us to the foot of the cross to seek His Face in all we do and say.Oh, Lord, God of Creation, help us to re-commit our way and our lives solely to You each day as your Sun says, “Good Morning! with Joy.  May we bow our heads in prayer of commitment when the Sun is shielded by your Clouds.  Give us the strength and energy, Dear Lord, to not only endure, but stay faithful to You in love and adoration.  In Jesus’ Name, AmenCommit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this: He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn, your vindication like the noonday sun. Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes. Psalm 37:5-7
