May 30, 2017 – Matthew 8:8-9
But the officer said, “Lord, I am not worthy to have you come into my home. Just say the word from where you are, and my servant will be healed. I know this because I am under the authority of my superior officers, and I have authority over my soldiers. I only need to say, ‘Go,’ and they go, or ‘Come,’ and they come. And if I say to my slaves, ‘Do this,’ they do it.” Matthew 8:8-9
Who or what do you have faith in? Who can you trust to heal someone without seeing them? Think about all the doctor appointments you have made – and you have to see a doctor. Jesus healed this man without seeing him, with just his word! Yet this Centurion, a man who tells other men what to do and when, trusted Jesus. “Just say the word!”
This is what Jesus says we need to move a mountain.“You don’t have enough faith,” Jesus told them. “I tell you the truth, if you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it would move. Matthew 17:20.
Have you tried to ‘move a mountain’ with your faith? When I was about 10 years old, I tried. I realized then I needed more faith!
Do you want to amaze Jesus? Believe, trust, and have faith in Jesus Christ! How do you begin? Pray! Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus. I Thessalonians 5:16-18.
When Jesus heard this, he was amazed. Turning to those who were following him, he said, “I tell you the truth, I haven’t seen faith like this in all Israel! Matthew 8:10
