May 18, 2017 – Hebrews 13:6, 8
So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me? Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. Hebrews 13:6, 8
From childhood we ‘play follow the leader’. Do you remember who was declared the leader? The person who was the most inventive! Do you remember the game ‘freeze’? Where the ‘It’ twirls the ones who play, and hollers – ‘freeze’ and we didn’t move, no matter how awkwardly we landed.
When Jesus becomes the leader in our lives, it is no longer a game. We have found a leader Who is without sin. Following Jesus, living as He lived on earth is a ‘DO’ way. He is always the same. We like to change the rules. Jesus will always be the same. Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow, He never changes.
God made a promise and sealed the promise with the blood of our Lord Jesus. He gives us what we need to do His Will, not ours. Not while we live on this earth, but forever and ever! We can trust Jesus every day and every night.
I have come in My Father’s name, and you do not receive Me; if another comes in his own name, him you will receive. How can you believe, who receive honor from one another, and do not seek the honor that comes from the only God? John 5:43-44.
Jesus asks this question. There is only one Jesus, Lord of All. Who do you follow when you choose only One?
Now may the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen. Hebrews 13:20-21
