April 27, 2017 – I John 4:16

And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them. I John 4:16

God is Love! This is the greatest and most meaningful and beautiful three words in the world.  It is beginning of our awakening to life of joy.  Songs have been written holding up love.  Without God, we slip in and out of love at a whim, not knowing that God’s Love is constant.

When we choose to live in love, we live in God – God lives in us. How can this be?  Being confident in God’s love and His gift of grace through Jesus Christ.

Have you ever been afraid?  All you can think, is how you are going to get punished!  The only way to not be afraid is to love.  The first time I read, There is no fear in love, I knew I must choose to love.  God’s love is purer, God’s love is greater.  Choosing to love God is the greatest and most wise thing we can ever do in this world.

There is nothing more satisfying to us than being right and perfect. The greatest is when when our love is made perfect in God!  We can do this only with God.  God gave us Jesus. Why? Because God loves us.  When we we believe and trust in God, the fear we had disappears.  Why?  Through Christ’s resurrection from death, we, also, will be raised from the dead.

This is how love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment: In this world we are like Jesus.  There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. 1 John 4:17-18
