Philippians2-15aDo all things without grumbling or disputing, that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, holding fast to the word of life, so that in the day of Christ I may be proud that I did not run in vain or labor in vain. Philippians 2:14-16An innocent child enjoys God’s Creation, a butterfly…and God smiles.  This innocence is ours when we are children of God, shining as lights in the dark world.  When does an innocent child begin grumbling or disputing?  This is when the light of our life begins to grow dim.  Continuing this darkness  through life causes bitterness unless we become blameless and innocent. How can this be?  These verses give us the answer.  Hold fast to the Words of Life.  Hold fast to the Word Himself — Jesus Christ.  Through the sacrifice on the cross, through Jesus Christ, our innocence is reclaimed.  His sacrifice is for you and for me.We go through life, loving, encouraging, trusting and being faithful to Jesus.  Your steadfast love is always before me, leading me, guiding my walk in faithfulness to you.  Prove me, O Lord, try me.  Test my heart and my mind.  Can I ask that in confidence?  Will my faith be shaken when the shadows of life fall on me?  This is when I hold fast to your love and my faith is tested.  Hold my hand, Lord, hold my heart and mind in your will.  May my life be a beacon to others of your glory…I praise You.Prove me, O Lord, and try me; test my heart and my mind. For your steadfast love is before my eyes, and I walk in your faithfulness. Psalm 26:2-3
