April 10, 2017 – Psalm 35:9-10
Then my soul will rejoice in the Lord and delight in his salvation. My whole being will exclaim, “Who is like you, Lord?” Psalm 35:9-10
“Who is like you, Lord?” Each one of us who truly love the Lord will delight and rejoice in Him. Not just one day a week, but every moment we draw breath, the very breath God gives us.
God gives us our daily bread. At every turn in life, He is with us, waiting for us to seek Him and follow Him. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. Matthew 6:33.
What is in our hearts escapes through our mouth. If our hearts hold anger, our mouths explode in hurtful language toward others. If our hearts hold the peace of God, our language is one of peace and joy. Others delight in being around us.
When we delight in God, we learn the joy of being a peacemaker and the power of loving with our whole hearts, minds, and soul. It is when anger rules our hearts, we live a divisive life, always critical of others. And our own hearts crumble.
When our tongues proclaim your righteousness, oh, Lord, and praises all day long, there is time to love our neighbor as ourselves. This is choosing God and His righteousness.
For the Kingdom of God is not just a lot of talk; it is living by God’s power. Which do you choose? Should I come with a rod to punish you, or should I come with love and a gentle spirit? I Corinthians 4:20-21
May those who delight in my vindication shout for joy and gladness; may they always say, “The Lord be exalted, who delights in the well-being of his servant.” My tongue will proclaim your righteousness, your praises all day long. Psalm 35:27-28
