“You alone are the LORD. You made the skies and the heavens and all the stars. You made the earth and the seas and everything in them. You preserve them all, and the angels of heaven worship you. “You are the Lord God, who chose Abram and brought him from Ur of the Chaldeans and renamed him Abraham.” Nehemiah 9:6-7Who is the Lord? Why do the angels worship Him? When we attend a concert, we want to sit close to the action. We want to see the violinists’ bows in action so closely that we can see the rosin fly in different directions. We want to see the timpanist’s heart beat in rhythm with each sound. We want the vibrations of the tones of the trumpets to shake our hearts. Can you see the angels, created by God, awaiting God’s commands as He created heavens and the stars, the earth and the seas? Can you imagine the wonder and awe as the creation took place? They had ring-side seats to the glory of Creation! No wonder they worshiped the Creator. The messages of the angels from God were not for themselves but for us. They brought the message that Jesus was born, for the salvation of the world. The angels are watching. They are ready for action, and desire to see us put all our hope in the salvation, the gracious salvation that comes through Jesus Christ. So we prepare ourselves to be a part of the concert of gratitude and participate in the action of what trusting Jesus brings to each of us. Glory, Glory, Hallelujah! Praise His Name! They were told that their messages were not for themselves, but for you. And now this Good News has been announced to you by those who preached in the power of the Holy Spirit sent from heaven. It is all so wonderful that even the angels are eagerly watching these things happen. So prepare your minds for action and exercise self-control. Put all your hope in the gracious salvation that will come to you when Jesus Christ is revealed to the world. I Peter:1:12-13
