December 22, 2016 – Luke 2:13-14

Suddenly, the angel was joined by a vast host of others—the armies of heaven—praising God and saying, “Glory to God in highest heaven, and peace on earth to those with whom God is pleased.” Luke 2:13-14The shepherds had never seen angels, the armies of heaven, reflecting the glory of God.   They had never heard the message from the angels of Glory, Glory to God in the highest heaven and peace on earth.  Peace on earth can only be achieved through God, and those with whom God is pleased. How can we please God?  Believe, trust and obey Him.  What did the shepherds do next? They heard the message and were determined to go.  They did not procrastinate, or just say, ‘that’s nice’ and nap a little.  They went to Bethlehem to see this thing that happened. When we hear of Jesus, do we turn away, or do we search for him? Blessed are those who keep His testimonies, Who seek Him with the whole heart! Psalm 119:2….Blessed are those who keep His testimonies, Who seek Him with the whole heart! Hebrews 11:6The shepherds didn’t return to their former lives as before.  They shared what they saw and heard with everyone.  All who listened were astonished.  When we are no longer astonished at the story of Jesus, in awe, it is time to search for Him again.  Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends” Revelation 3:20“Let’s go to Bethlehem! Let’s see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.” They hurried to the village and found Mary and Joseph. And there was the baby, lying in the manger. After seeing him, the shepherds told everyone what had happened and what the angel had said to them about this child. All who heard the shepherds’ story were astonished.   Luke 2:15-18
