April 12, 2016 – Psalm 27:13-14
Yet I am confident I will see the Lord’s goodnesswhile I am here in the land of the living. Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord. Psalm 27:13-14
It is a sure thing to believe we will see the Lord’s goodness. We are so sure that we can wait patiently. Patience is a hard thing to learn. Something within us just can’t wait. We want what we want now, not later. That chocolate chip cookie, and ice cream cone, that new toy. Yet the Lord wants us to wait patiently.
Next time your Dad or Mom says, just wait, remember they wait, too. They spend their time caring for you, they wait at the stop light, they wait for a pay check, and most importantly, they wait for you to say, “I love you!”
Be brave and courageous. There is a reason why we wait and why we are to be brave and courageous. We are learning to be obey our Lord God. We are learning to practice one of the fruit of the spirit – to be like Jesus – by being patient.
Your Dad and Mom have a way of making plans and writing lists and things they need to remember to do. God has been planning since the beginning of time. He will cause everything to work just as He plans. He wants things to be good for those who love Him. He has plans for you, each of you.
All He wants is for his children to love Him and Wait. Next time your teacher or your parents say, Wait! Remember who you are! And remember the WHY you wait. First of all, you love God! And second reason is when you love God, you are His Child. The third reason is He has a purpose for you in this life and it is good. Just wait and see!
