March 15, 2016 – Proverbs 1:33
But all who listen to me will live in peace, untroubled by fear of harm. Proverbs 1:33Listen, Listen! What voice do we listen to each day? A voice that sets fear into our hearts? Or do we listen to the voice of love that places untroubled peace; freedom from fear in our minds and hearts? The fear of ‘what might be’ troubles us greatly. We tentatively take a step into the unknown. Each step into the unknown is called faith. And that faith comes from trusting the One who gives us peace of mind and heart.Psalm 85:10 tells us – Unfailing love and truth have met together. Righteousness (what is right) and peace have kissed! Doing what is right comes from God’s love that blends together with truth. Knowing this in our hearts makes us wise. The kind of wisdom that only God can bring us. Wisdom doesn’t come from reading many books. Wisdom comes from knowing and listening to our Lord God.When our parents say, “Listen,” do we hear? When our teachers say, “Listen,” do we hear? And he said, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear.” Mark 4:9. When we stop our ears from hearing our teachers and our parents, we won’t listen to God either. Jesus, as He was ready to leave this earth, teaches us about peace. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. John 14:27.Come and listen to my counsel. I’ll share my heart with you and make you wise… But those who listen to me will live in safety and comfort. They will have nothing to fear. Proverbs 1:23, 33.
