January 28, 2016 – Luke 5:24

So I will prove to you that the Son of Man has the authority on earth to forgive sins.” Then Jesus turned to the paralyzed man and said, “Stand up, pick up your mat, and go home!” Luke 5:24Jesus proved that he was the only one able to give strength to a paralyzed man.  A man who hadn’t been able to move, suddenly jumps up when hearing the words of Jesus.  Why?  Because Jesus had the power to heal him.  No other man or god was able to to accomplish this.  Just Jesus.Jesus proved, without a doubt that He is the Son of Man, He has the power to forgive sins and heal.  Only Jesus, with power from God in Heaven, is able to do that.  When we know Jesus and walk with Him in this life we are safe in His Care whether we live or die.And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love.  Romans 8:38If we want to be sure we are safe…we read in Romans 8:31 – What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us?When the paralyzed man was healed, it changed his life and the lives of those who witnessed the miracle.  Even so, each time one of us believe and follow Jesus….”There is joy in the presence of God’s angels when even one sinner repents.”  For we all are sinners until we KNOW and live for Jesus.And immediately, as everyone watched, the man jumped up, picked up his mat, and went home praising God. Everyone was gripped with great wonder and awe, and they praised God, exclaiming, “We have seen amazing things today!” Luke 5:25-26
