December 22, 2015 – Matthew 2:10

Matthew2-10When they saw the star, they were filled with joy! Matthew 2:10The Wise Men were filled joy when they saw the star.  Why?  What fills you with joy?  Is it a dish of chocolate ice cream, a new toy, or a new bicycle?  The ice cream melts, the new toy soon is old and broken, and the new bicycle can become bent.  But a star? God gives the star life just  as He gives us life.A star is a message from God.  A star was created by God. Someone once said the sky is God’s bulletin board.  He speaks through the rainbow, the clouds, the sunshine and the stars and the moon.  He reminds us of his glory and his gifts.  The rainbow reminds us that he loves us.  The star reminds us of the gift of love – Jesus, God’s one and only Son.  The angels that appeared in the sky announced the good news of Jesus to the shepherds. Each evening the stars twinkle a good night to me.  In the morning, the sunrise announces – His mercies are new every morning.  The clouds remind me of the blessings God showers down on us when we trust Him.  The snow reminds me of  how we become white as snow when we love Jesus. As God created the world and laid its cornerstone, the morning stars sang together and all the angels shouted for joy!  There is no bad weather…there are just moments of joy that God shares with us.  This Christmas – sing with the morning stars and shout for joy!!!What supports its foundations, and who laid its cornerstone as the morning stars sang together and all the angels shouted for joy? Job 38:6-7
