August 18, 2015 – Luke 18:15-16

Some people brought their small children to Jesus so that he could lay his hands on them to bless them.  But when the followers saw this, they told the people not to do this. But Jesus called the little children to him and said to his followers, “Let the little children come to me. Don’t stop them, because God’s kingdom belongs to people who are like these little children. Luke 18:15-16Jesus want us to hold His Hand, ask Him questions, talk to Him, have Him hug us tight, follow Him wherever he goes.  He wants to show us how much he loves us every day.  He wants us to ask Him for things we need.  He loves when we say, Thank you to Him.That describes what you do with your Dad or Mom.  You like feeling secure with your hand in theirs when you walk somewhere.  You love to be hugged and snuggled, because this means you feel loved.  You want to follow them every place they go and do whatever they do and what they say to do.Did you know that Jesus loves you even more than your Dad or Mom do?  It is true.  And even though you can’t see Him, Jesus will never leave you.Sometimes adults forget this verse — accept God’s kingdom like a little child — and they think they know more than God.  Maybe because they are rich and they can buy anything.  They may think they don’t need God.Have you seen a needle lately?  If you have, did you look through the tiny hole where the thread goes?  Imagine a camel stepping through that tiny hole.  The camel could squeeze through.  That is what happens when grown people try to belong to God.  They cannot pass the childlike test.As you grow up, remember to follow and obey Jesus, pray to Him, ask Him things, thank Him and love Him with your whole heart.  You will receive blessings and the same joy that a hug brings from your Mom and Dad.  As you walk through life — hold the Hand of Jesus.“The truth is, you must accept God’s kingdom like a little child accepts things, or you will never enter it.” When Jesus saw that the man was sad, he said, “It will be very hard for rich people to enter God’s kingdom. It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter God’s kingdom. Luke 18:17, 24-25
