August 11, 2015 – Deuteronomy 31:6
So be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the Lord your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you. Deuteronomy 31:6How can we be strong and courageous when we begin school? Think about all the new things we will encounter! All the things we have to learn, is there ever an end to learning?When I saw the picture of this horse, I wondered if he was afraid to learn to walk, to run and to gallop? He began by taking baby steps. When he fell down, he got up again. He did not stop. He had confidence!Moses led the Children of Israel from Egypt. He knew he would not go into the Promised Land. Joshua would lead them. There were many things Joshua didn’t know about his task, but He knew God. He knew God would make him strong and brave and full of courage.As you begin a new school year, or anything new, remember that God will go ahead of you and be with you. Always. Just like a colt who learns to walk — learn to trust God — even if you fall down. God will help you up. He love you!Then Moses called for Joshua, and as all Israel watched, he said to him, “Be strong and courageous! For you will lead these people into the land that the Lord swore to their ancestors he would give them. You are the one who will divide it among them as their grants of land. Deuteronomy 31:7
