June 23, 2015 – I John 4:7-8

Junior Snippet #1 Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God.  Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God.  But anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love.  I John 4:7-8When I was a little girl, I remember sitting at a rounded horseshoe table with a place cut out for the teacher.  She taught us the verse.  God is love.  To me, I could not imagine who God is, much less understand how He could love me, or that I should love Him back.  I knew prayed to God, but I wondered, could He hear me?When I look at the verse again, I see that from God is love, we are to love each other.  No one said why I shouldn’t fight with my brothers.  Sometimes it is really hard to love an aggravating brother or sister.  But this is what God requires.The best thing is that when we love God, we are His friend.  He is always with us even if we cannot see Him.  He loves us, no matter what.  He forgives.  If we do not love Him, he does not recognize us.But the person who loves God is the one whom God recognizes.  I Corinthians 8:3
