The birds nest by the waters; they sing among the branches. He waters the mountains from his upper chambers; the land is satisfied by the fruit of his work; He makes grass grow for the cattle, and plants for people to cultivate — bringing forth food from the earth. Psalm 104:12-14God is the master of complex simplicity, weaving together his purposes and his creation. Nothing God has ever created fails to praise Him and fulfill what they are called to do. Even spiders and mice have their purpose, and they are the bane of man’s existence. And what about Man? Man is the only creation that can choose….and often chooses the impossible task of thwarting God’s plans. Man chooses what he sees as his free living, not realizing he enslaves himself with chains of avarice and evil that must be fed with an ever increasing depth of misery.”As for me and my household, we will serve the Lord,” said Joshua long ago. (Joshua 24:15) A banner statement to live by. Joshua knew the Lord God.Light is often given the meaning as righteousness. Let us change the 2nd verse; The Lord wraps himself in righteousness as with a garment. While teaching elementary children about left and right brain thinking, it was amusing to see that no one wanted to be anything but right! Left is automatically understood as wrong. Now consider life — if we wrapped ourselves in righteousness. This is only possible through the blood of Jesus Christ. The visual pictures that stretching heavens like a tent, making a cloud chariot, riding on the wings of the wind create a picture of our Lord. A picture of action, control and wisdom. He uses the winds as his messengers and fires are his servants.I will never see the effects of a tornadic wind or a blazing fire without thinking of God. What is His Message? Fire as his servant? Is it to purify or to destroy. God is all powerful and His Creation is obedient to Him. Are we?The Lord wraps himself in light as with a garment; he stretches out the heavens like a tent and lays the beams of his upper chambers on their waters. He makes the clouds his chariot and rides on the wings of the wind. He makes the winds his messengers, flames of fire his servants. Psalm 104:2-4
