Romans5-2bTherefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us. Because of our faith, Christ has brought us into this place of undeserved privilege where we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing God’s glory. Romans 5:1-2Do you ever wonder how deep faith goes?  It is easy to have faith in the existence of God when everything in life seems to be going great.  Have you ever looked at someone else’s life and wonder how they can laugh and be so joyful even when things seem to be falling apart? That is a person whose faith is growing.  That person is confident in his destiny after death.  Nothing in this life can hurt him.  For him to live is Christ, to die is gain.  His soul cannot not be made captive by the powers of this world.  Being in Christ is the ultimate freedom, the ultimate strength, the ultimate in living a ‘rainbow’ life.My Mom once told me that after a move to Watonga, Oklahoma, my Dad doubted the decision.  They spent many a night in prayer.  Mom held on to Dad as he shook with fear and dread.  When Dad realized the sky didn’t fall, he relaxed and served others in many ways as a rural mail carrier and teacher of the Word.  There are battles in life that are spiritual.  When we decide whose side we are on, we rise in our hearts and souls to victory in Christ Jesus. One of my sons once told me, “If I don’t believe in God, what else is there?”  That is the bottom line.  Believing and living in God creates the confidence in our hearts to have a purpose in life.  How blessed is the man (or woman) who can say, “‘If I don’t believe in God, what else is there?’ and therefore my path is set before me!”The Eternal is with me, so I will not be afraid of anything….  So often the scriptures counsel, “Do not be afraid!”Let the people who fear the Eternal proclaim: “He never ceases to be loving and kind.” When trouble surrounded me, I cried out to the Eternal; He answered me and brought me to a wide, open space. The Eternal is with me, so I will not be afraid of anything. If God is on my side, how can anyone hurt me? Psalm 118:4-6
