Therefore let all the faithful pray to you
while you may be found;
surely the rising of the mighty waters
will not reach them.
You are my hiding place;
you will protect me from trouble
and surround me with songs of deliverance. Psalm 32:6-7Prayers are like incense to God. Prayers of a righteous man avails much. Prayers are for all people. Prayers, faithfully given, are create a foundation for future generations to stand with surety. Praying is the indication of commitment and allegiance to the One True God. Praying increases faith and trust through believing and seeing answered prayers.Our example of how to pray comes from Jesus. He prayed to his Father in Heaven, with sweat drops of blood. Earnest prayers take full concentration Praying is more than bullet points given as ‘orders for the day’. Praying takes concentration with the whole being, not rote words memorized and repeated at certain times of the day.We pray with our whole hearts, with earnestness of commitment and belief. Now as we read the Lord’s prayer, word by word, asking God for understanding, the prayer becomes our own words.Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy.
May your Kingdom come soon. May your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us today the food we need, and forgive us our sins,
as we have forgiven those who sin against us.
And don’t let us yield to temptation, but rescue us from the evil one. Matthew 6:9-13Now, let us learn to pray as Jesus prayed: Hebrews 5:7During the days of Jesus’ life on earth, he offered up prayers and petitions with fervent cries and tears to the one who could save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverent submission.
