Reflection on “The Wonders of God’s Steadfastness!” March 12, 2024
All the paths of the Lord are steadfast love and faithfulness, for those who keep his covenant and his testimonies. Psalm 25:10.
Steadfast love and faithfulness meet;
righteousness and peace kiss each other. Faithfulness springs up from the ground, and righteousness looks down from the sky. Psalm 85:10-11.
Who is known as God the Father? After I read the beginning verse of Genesis and the last of Revelations, I knew who this God is.
In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. Genesis 1:1 – He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming soon.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus! Revelation 22:20.
Everywhere I look, I see the immensity of His creation. Man is often proud of what he has accomplished, yet no one can create like God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him was not anything made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. John 1:2-4. There are no power outages with God and His Son, Jesus.
The relationship between God the Father and Christ Jesus the Son is flawless. Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and you still do not know me, Philip? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on my own authority, but the Father who dwells in me does His work. Believe me, that I am in the Father and the Father is in me, or else believe on account of the works themselves. John 14:9-11.
Steadfastness for God is eternity. It is built on His Love for all the people He created through the ages. When I read these verses, I wondered how this could be. I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth. Psalm 121:1-2.
How can we keep up with God? We can’t. Yet within His Love we can be faithful and not search for things that make everyday things seem more interesting to us, but do His Will. Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord, your labor is not in vain. I Corinthians 15:58.
How long has God been thinking of us? Before HE set the foundation of the world. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, even as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before Him. In love, He predestined us for adoption to Himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of His will, to the praise of His glorious grace, with which He has blessed us in the Beloved. Ephesians 1:3-6.
What response to our Creator could be appropriate for us? While recovering from a fall in 2021, I found this verse! So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. I Corinthians 10:31. All I could do was therapy then. And this verse gave me a reason to continue. In the mundane things of life, I can give God the Glory that is due Him.
His glory is great through your salvation; splendor and majesty you bestow you make him glad with the joy of your presence. For the king trusts in the Lord, and through the steadfast love of the Most High, He shall not be moved. Psalm 21:5-7.
Another response is learning to Love as God Loves. In this is love, not that we have loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us, and His love is perfected in us. I John 4:10-12.
His glory is great through your salvation; splendor and majesty you bestow on him. For you make him most blessed forever; you make Him glad with the joy of Your Presence. For the king trusts in the Lord, and through the steadfast love of the Most High, He shall not be moved. Psalm 21:5-7.
What work did Jesus give the disciples as He left this earth to be with His Father? Be fishers of men teaching them the way to eternal life. Matthew ends his book with these directives…to be obeyed.
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20.
In doing so, we become Ambassadors for the Love of God and the sacrifice of Jesus. Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making His appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. For our sake He made Him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God. 2 Corinthians 5:20-21.
We are never alone…. He is always with us! And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matthew 28: 20.
