May 24, 2016 – Psalm 136:5-6

Psalm136With his wisdom he made the skies. His love continues forever. He spread out the earth on the seas. His love continues forever.  Psalm 136:5-6This morning I saw the faint tracing of the large moon in the sky.  It gives me a sense of joy, knowing that God made the moon in the beginning.  How did he create the sun and the moon that floods the sky in ever changing seasons?  The seasons seem to be automatic, but without His love forever and His wisdom, they would disappear. In a moment, in a blink of your eye, God can cause the sun light not to shine by day or the moon by night.  Why?  Because His love for us continues forever and He does not want us to be in the dark without hope.  Can you imagine what it would be to live in complete darkness without a glimmer of hope?  That is why God sent Jesus. In John 8:12, Jesus says,“I am the light of the world. The person who follows me will never live in darkness but will have the light that gives life.”   In Revelation 22:5, we read that in Heaven there is no need of the sun. There will never be night again. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, because the Lord God will give them light. And they will rule as kings forever and ever.Love and God’s Light go together.  I John 2:10 –Whoever loves a brother or sister lives in the light and will not cause anyone to stumble in his faith.  There is a dread of stumbling and doing wrong. One seven year old girl called doing wrong a ‘boo-boo’. Her mother found her in a school closet one day sobbing.  She confessed to her Mom, “I made a boo-boo.”  This little girl grew up to have a strong faith in God and trusts Him with her life.  For she knows deep in her heart, that His love continues forever! He made the sun and the moon. His love continues forever. He made the sun to rule the day.  His love continues forever. Psalm 136:7-8
