March 22, 2016 – Hebrews 11:23

Hebrews11-23By faith Moses, when he was born, was hidden for three months by his parents, because they saw that the child was beautiful, and they were not afraid of the king’s edict. Hebrews 11:23The king of Egypt’s edict was to kill all baby boys.  When Moses was born, his mother hid him in her house for 3 months.  When she could no longer hide him – she made a water proof basket and hid him in the water, with his sister watching at a distance.  This was the place where the daughter of the king bathed.  Moses was found by the daughter of the king as she went to bathe.Could you do that?  Would you have faith in God to take care of your little brother or sister to do place him or her into a basket in the water and hope the baby you love would be found? The mother of Moses had faith in God.The first step in pleasing God is to believe He exists.  Whoever believes in the Son (Jesus) has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath (anger) of God remains on him. John 3:36.   Did  you know that Jesus already loves you?  But Jesus said, “Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children.” Matthew 19:14.God gave Moses something important to do when he grew up.  He led the children of Israel out of slavery in Egypt.   He traveled in the wilderness for 40 years.  During that time the people complained, though God found water, fed them manna and they crossed the Red Sea on dry land through the hand of God.  They rebelled against Moses and God.  Yet, God led them to freedom for He loved them.  He loves you, too and has plans for your life as well.  Do you have faith in Him?  The first step is often the hardest step. And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.
