September 25, 2015 – Colossians 1:15-16

Colossians1-15-16Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation, for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can’t see—such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him. Colossians 1:15-16In the fullness of time, God sent His One and Only Son into the world.  The Son in whom, God was pleased to dwell.  The creation, things seen and unseen, were made through Christ Jesus.  All thrones, kingdoms, rulers and authorities in the unseen world were created through and for Him.When we look at the Son, Jesus, we see God.  When we look at this Son, we see God’s original purpose in everything created.  He was there before any of the created came into existence and holds it all together.  From beginning to end, Jesus towers far above everything and everyone.  All the broken and lost pieces of the universe — people and things, animals and atoms — get properly fixed and fit together in vibrant harmonies, all because of his death, his blood that  poured down from the cross.God wants everyone to know this secret.  Christ — no more and no less — is salvation, peace and rest. For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross.  Colossians 1:19-20
