October 16, 2015 – Psalm 8:3-4
When I look at the night sky and see the work of your fingers— the moon and the stars you set in place— what are mere mortals that you should think about them, human beings that you should care for them? Psalm 8:3-4The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork. Psalm 19:1.We only have to look up and look out to see the glory of God. Why is it we only look down and inward? We study our path in life as if there was no other. We want our life our way – not God’s way. We want the control – and in doing so we lose the joy of trusting God. We look down and ignore the wonders of the life God has for you and me.God has made us, a step down from a heavenly being. He has put us in charge of all you created. We can create chaos or we can create beauty with God’s creation all around us. It is in our dominion. God has given us choices and the ability to think.Remember the this song and prayer? More of You by Colton Dixon.Less of me – Make me who I’m meant to be – You’re all I want all I need – You’re everythingTake it all I surrender – Be my king – God I choose – More of You – Less of me -This life I hold so closeOh, God I let it go – I refuse to gain the world and lose my soul – So take it all I abandon everything I am – You can have it – The only thing I need is – More of You!You are my source of strength! I will sing praises to you! For God is my refuge, the God who loves me. Psalm 59:17. Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. Philippians 4:8Yet you have made him a little lower than the heavenly beings and crowned him with glory and honor. You have given him dominion over the works of your hands; you have put all things under his feet, all sheep and oxen, and also the beasts of the field, Psalm 8:5-7
