October 10, 2017 – 2 Corinthians 12:9
Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. 2 Corinthians 12:9.
The World celebrates winners and those who are able to achieve and win in earthly contests. Apostle Paul could have bragged about the visions and revelations he had from God. Instead he realized the ‘thorn in his flesh’ kept him humble. Apostle Paul understood that his strength was not in himself, but in the Lord.
What makes us say, from the time we are very young, “I can do it by myself?” All our gifts, all our abilities are from God the Father! Our victory song is, “For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.” Philippians 4:13.
All the difficult things that happen to us are simply a call to trust our Lord God. In trusting Jesus, we realize His great Love for us. When we realize each breath we take comes from Him and our abilities come from Him, we learn His power and place in our lives.
God loves us so much we walks with us through life. Can you hear Him delighting in you? His voice is a soft love-whisper, it is not a raucous ear-jarring ‘world’ sound. Our strength comes from delighting in our Savior. Take delight in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart. Psalm 37:4.
This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9
That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong. 2 Corinthians 12:10.
