May 3, 2016 – Psalm 8:1-2

Psalm8-1-2O Lord, our Lord, your majestic name fills the earth! Your glory is higher than the heavens. You have taught children and infants to tell of your strength, silencing your enemies and all who oppose you. Psalm 8:1-2Whether day or night, Our Lord’s majestic name fills the earth!  Your glory is higher that the heavens. How often being in the world without the taint of the sinfulness of man, gives refreshing of the mind, the heart and the soul. Whether it is a hike in the woods, at the beach – watching the waves roll in with God-given power and majesty, or walking in a flowering garden. Being with the Lord, delighting in His Word, renews our very soul.God is with us – day and night. We are never lost in this world when our compass is our Lord God. He leads us and guides us through His Word alone.   When we understand that God loves us so much that he sent Jesus to save us, we know the greatness of His Love.  We understand our Father which is in Heaven, suffered to provide a substitutionary blood sacrifice for our forgiveness. We are overcome by the realness of God’s love.  We often wonder how God can even think of us, mere mortals, He created.  We love and thank God for His sacrifice and His great Love.  We look at His Creation, give our Lord, our response – our hearts and lives to serve Him with our thoughts. We love others in all humbleness.  How can we do anything less?Oh Lord, our Lord, your majestic name fills the earth!

When I look at the night sky and see the work of your fingers— the moon and the stars you set in place— what are mere mortals that you should think about them, human beings that you should care for them? Psalm 8:3-4
